Feeling the Truth (Why is the Sky Blue?)
(Top Posts - Philosophy (FREELOVER) - 021801)

I suppose the amount of interest one has in truth
is related to the amount of interest one has in
peeling back the layers of mystery to understand
the real nature of our being, so that humans can
max out our one *sure* shot at life.

For those who wish for or are satisfied with "God
did it", their end ("God did it") is the justification
for their means (blind faith) and their means (blind
faith) is the justification for their end ("God did it").

In other words, some people never grow up and
accept the challenge of understanding our natural
place in a natural world.

Folks interested in reality have no less appreciation
for a beautiful sunset, a natural event in a natural
world, than those who bask in the ignorance of
crediting an invisible super-being for magically
creating it.

In the knowing of our place in a natural world, the
true beauty and wonder of it all is revealed, and
the feeling of truth is rapturous (if you're inclined
towards good feelings as I tend to be in my more
upbeat moments).
