Out With the Old, In With the New

Let's call it the Humanal.

1) Acknowledged to be written by humans.

2) Updateable.

3) Kind; gentle; forgiving; tolerant.

4) Acknowledgment that humans are *not*
all-knowing.

5) Acknowledgment that humans' fate is in
humans' hands in this dimension we all
know and share.

6) Common humanity.

7) Acknowledgment of evolution.

8) Search for truth (focus on the small "t").

9) Recognition of the human origins of all religions.

10) Think / scientific foundations for truth (focus
on the small "t") with the current state of scientific
truth (i.e., reality as best we can perceive it).

In addition, I'd add that the Humanal needs to have
accessibility for children of all ages (i.e., not written
on too complex a level so as to turn off the interest
of most of the population which needs a broad
scope rather than a detailed analysis).

However, all pertinent subjects will be addressed
(i.e. censorship of discussions of sensitive subjects
such as human race relations, sex, violence, and the
like, will not occur; however, these subjects will be
addressed on a fact-revealing, constructive, and
harm-reduction basis as opposed to the ancient
and despicable methods of hate and myth used to
address these subjects in the christian bible).

Of course, most agree that the bible is flawed from a
mountain of philosophical, moral, historical, and scientific
perspectives. So, referring to a flawed book is what's at
the root of the problem with Christianity, especially with
those Christians who treat the bible as *the word of god*,
and leveraging off of the flawed book is a major flaw in
the ointment of the non-fundy Christians.

The goal of the Humanal is to condense all relevant
knowledge into an understandable format with relevance
for everyday reference to humans. If there is such a book
already published, I'd be very interested in hearing about
it so I can review it and avoid whatever mistakes were
made that prevented it from gaining popularity.

The Humanal will include alternatives, perspectives,
and reasoned efforts to deal with and search for truth.
That is not present in the bible as the cornerstone of
the bible is a myth. The bible starts off with a myth.
The bible is based on myths with a little truth thrown
in for good measure. That's where the reliance on a
single book, the bible, goes awry, along with all the
insane hate and threats and braindead worship of
authority and hierarchy and subservience to slavery,
mental/spiritual/physical, thrown in.

The Humanal will be based on truth, not on ancient
myths and not on worship of authority.

The Humanal will attempt to connect with all of human-
ity, endeavoring to enlighten and inform unlike the
bible which is designed to threaten, confuse, weaken,
and obscure.

As such, given noble aspirations and reliance on truth
and the best efforts of open-minded individuals to search
for truth, the Humanal will be a huge improvement over
the guilt-ridden myths of the bible.

The Humanal - no God required or desired - the wis-
dom of humans is *all* we have; admitting that and
using human knowledge to search for the truth is a
primary goal here, providing humanity with a central
source of knowledge on such weighty subjects as ...

origins of the universe, origins of life, basis of all pop-
ular religions from the standpoint of reasoning - not
from the standpoint of myth, scientific truths in a way
people can relate to in a useful manner, historical truth,
and "why where we've been" impacts where and what
we are, etc.

The bible is a dead end. The Humanal will be an open
and honest search for truth by the only beings thus far
known to be capable of such a search.

Errors of the bible ancients will not be repeated in the
Humanal.
