Claims
Do Not a Truth Make
(Top Posts - Philosophy (General) - 073000)
Anyone
interested in what's true out there?
If
so, listen in and ponder the following:
If
someone states that Suzanne Marishnuh is the
living daughter of the almighty creator of the universe
and she ascended into Marishnuhternity, being one
with the creator circa 1907 ... after living a life of
giving and caring and performing miracles amongst
the indigenous tribe of wayfaring extra-terrestrials
in the jungles of Madagascar ...
First
off, might I ask, would there need to be
a preceding set of documents predicting or
anticipating her coming for the claim to be
true?
No,
of course not, anyone can at any time show
up and start performing miracles. There's no
logical reason for there to be a prediction of
miracles, a prophesy, as it were, in order for
miracles to be happenin' at any time ...
Second
off, might I ask,
With
a claim being made regarding Suzanne
Marishnuh, how would you go about ascertaining
if it was true and would you be interested in
whether or not it was true?
In
other words, if there was a group of
Marishnuhites, worshipping the sanctity and
almighty holiness of the great Marishnuh, would
you care to discuss with them the validity or lack
of same for their claims or would you just say
cool, fine with them, whatever, what works for
them is fine with me ...
But
wait a minute, what if the Marishnuhites told
you that you have to believe that Suzanne Marishnuh
was the almighty progeny of the holy creator
OR ELSE ...
Or
else what, you might inquire ...
OR
ELSE you're damned to eternal life in a box,
a very small tight box with no light, barely enough
air to survive, and nothing but the knowledge that
you could have believed in Suzanne and the
Marishnuhites but having failed to do so, you're
damned to suffer the eternal horror of eternal
life in a tight box ...
Do
you think, maybe, that you might be a bit
perturbed that the Marishnuhites were putting
you in a box (pardon the pun) as it were, leaving
you with a "believe or else" blackmail scenario?
You
either believe the Marishnuhites -or- you risk
an eternal horror (not to mention the horror you're
risking for your friends and families should you
not choose to cop to the Marishnuhite threat) ...
Now,
transition from that fictitious world ... to the
world in which most in the western world live and
tell me, honestly, how does the whole Jesus Christ
threat scenario differ from the Suzanne Marishnuh
scenario and why should we put one ounce of
our one and only sure shot at life in following
the unsubstantiated claims regarding Jesus Christ
in that they're as worthy and meaningful as are
the claims of Suzanne Marishnuh?
To
sum up, claims do not a truth make and to
follow the claims of the Jesus Christ which chris-
tians follow is no more valid than Marishnuhism
or Mormonism or any ism you can come up with
for to WITNESS and EXPERIENCE something
is a trillion to the trillionth power miles away from
just following based on claims ...
for
Claims Do Not a Truth Make ...
Over
simplification?
Think
about it and get back to me, won't you?
