to upgrade security at U.S. airports.
From
x-rays to infrared detectors to radar, the devices are important
to dectect non-metallic objects (such as plastic knives) that
can now pass through without detection.
Issues
of invasion of privacy may arise as some technologies, in essence,
strip the passenger to search for possible weapons.
