So,
here it is 2049 and you've been fortunate enough to
still be hanging around when all the bugs have been worked
out on a method of life perpetuation and enhancement which
entails pleasure, youth, sex, joy, mental alertness, enhanced
physical capabilities, mind expanding capabilities, the ability
to in real time interconnect to other beings and intelligences
and knowledge databases dramatically expanding the scope
of the human experience, and ...
...
the question is put to you: Dear Mr./Ms. _________,
do you wish to accept the life perpetuation and enhancement
program -or- do you wish to live out your natural life and
grow old with nothing more than body part replacements
giving you a comfortable life for the rest of your natural days
(life expectancy for persons not accepting the life perpetuation
and enhancement program may be close to 150 years by the
middle of the 21st century)?
How
many, if any, in this audience are would decline the
opportunity to continue to experience this life on a plain of
existence far above and beyond anything ever imagined by
ancient writers of "holy" documents? In other words, given
an opportunity for a real experience in a real world far beyond
the wildest imaginations of the ancients, with reason to hope
that the experience would last for as long as matter itself,
wouldn't most choose life perpetuation and enhancement
and real hope in a real world over a natural demise to an
uncertain ultimate destiny?
Given
that the scenario for life perpetuation and enhancement
described above and the real possibility that in the very near
future (perhaps not in our life times, but given no catastrophes
from nature or the hand of humankind, sometime in the next
few generations) this scenario will become a reality, take a
long hard look at any ancient holy documents (for those who
consider such documents worthy "for believers" or worthy
for consideration by those not yet convinced gods exist) ...
and take time to ...

the human view of the time that the documents were
written ...
Ponder
the irrelevance of the concepts that were developed
for manipulation of fragile uneducated superstitious humans
who had short life expectancies and little control over their
lives ...
Ponder
the irrelevance of worship to authority and bowing in
submission and slavery to gods ...
Ponder
the beginning of a new age, an age of freedom from
disease ...
Ponder
the beginning of a new age, an age of freedom from
the often crippling and devastating impacts of old age ...
Ponder
the beginning of a new age, an age of increasing
knowledge and reliance on one another to lift humankind
to heights of joy and pleasure and interconnectedness that
put ancient concepts to shame, revealing them to all but
the most determined of humans to truly be human creations
for human ends in a harsh, tough world of pre-scientific
fear and superstition ...

Why
wait?
...
Why
would anyone want to live one more day supporting
in any way, shape, or form, ancient religions steeped in
ancient myths?
...
The
sooner that humankind can leave the mindsets of the
ancients in the past, the sooner we'll be able to create real
hope for real heaven in a real world, genuinely helping to
elevate humankind to a status and condition never before
aspired to.
...
Life
will become all about living and the ancient philosophies
of dwelling on death will no longer register as being anything
more than a reflection of the ancient human condition, no
longer relevant to a world filled with the quest for *real* life
perpetuation and enhancement, on this earth, at this time,
in this life.
